What is Light?

Learning Objectives

  • Students will be able to identify light as a form of energy that helps us see.
  • Students will understand that sunlight is a source of light during the day.
  • Students will recognize that artificial light sources, like light bulbs and flashlights, help us see at night.

Introduction and Hook

Begin the lesson by discussing what students see when they look out of a window during the day. Explain that light is a form of energy that helps us see.

Explain the concept of natural and artificial light sources. Highlight the sun as a natural source of light during the day and light bulbs as artificial sources at night.
